Edible Maldives

The pilot project (October-December 2019) is meant to provide a preliminary introduction to the international visitors for considering the discovery of local islands cuisine as the next new attraction in Maldives, worth to travel between atolls to less known destinations and experience the heritage food of local communities. 

The plan for the long term project (2020-2030) is to build in this section an e-library dedicated to history of food in Maldives, role and impact of food in the lifestyle of communities and families, recipes of culinary specialties, and much more. 

A wide and deep research on the subjects will be announced online during the pilot project and should be developed and consolidated in the long term project by a qualified team of Maldivian and international experts in association with Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism at the National University of Maldives.
